You should play this Xbox Game Pass shooter with a great performance by Lance Reddick

Quantum break, Remedy Entertainment’s ambitious 2016 video game/TV show hybrid, is back on Xbox Game Pass after being temporarily pulled from digital stores due to a licensing issue. This is good news, especially if you want to see a great performance from Lance Reddick.

Published by Microsoft and developed by the studio behind it Max Payne and Control, Quantum break is a third-person action-adventure game that mixes heavy-duty shooter gameplay with TV show-style storytelling. Starring Sean Ashmore and some goaty talent like WireAidan Gillen, Amelia Rose Blair (Cyberpunk 2077Theo Price), Courtney Hope (Control main character Jesse Fadden), Dominic Monaghan from the film Lord of the Rings movies, and the late Lance Reddick (Fatecommander Zavala), Quantum break is this experimental game that told a tense, compelling narrative about the effects of time travel. Yeah, the shooting at its core wasn’t very great, it’s an average copy Gears of Warhas tried and true cover-based mechanics, but it’s elevated by other things that play really well, great character interactions, and satisfying time-based abilities. The game also features a four-episode Syfy Channel-like TV series that changes in some ways depending on your actions in the game. In that sense Quantum break feels like a callback to the FMV games of the 90s, but aimed at a more modern audience.
